Human Resource Manager - Charlotte, NC

The HR Manager (Charlotte office) partners with the HR Manager (Corporate office) to lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resource Department including, developing and implementing HR initiatives, administering benefits and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Oversee the Human Resource Dept and its team members
  • Ensure all new HR Dept team members are trained effectively on all aspects of their positions
  • Develop, review, and implement new and revised policies and procedures
  • Research existing and changing workplace trends and propose changes as necessary
  • Create, execute, and automate employee training and onboarding
  • Ensure the HR Team is completing all unemployment and workers’ compensation claims
  • Collaborate with Safety Committee and Workers’ Compensation carriers to reduce work-related injuries, develop and maintain transitional duty programs, and meet other WC-related goals
  • Maintain new and existing health insurance policies for internal and external staff
  • Ensure proper progressive discipline, termination, and resignation processes are followed for internal team members
  • Record, investigate, and resolve complaints and allegations in an accurate and professional manner
  • Conduct employee mediations as necessary
  • Work with legal counsel as necessary, including the enforcement of noncompetition agreements
  • Complete all research projects, tasks, and special projects as directed by the HR Manager or Executive Team
  • Maintain compliance with state, federal and Joint Commission laws and regulations
  • Maintain professional working relationships and interactions with all departments and offices
  • Maintain confidentiality standards daily
  • Work in an office environment on a full-time basis unless otherwise specified by the Executive Team


  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Human Resource certification preferred, i.e., SHRM-CP, PHR, etc.
  • Minimum of 2 years of prior HR experience required
  • Customer service and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • General knowledge and capacity to operate office equipment
  • Meet or exceed all essential functions of the job, including but not limited to, work performance goals

HR Manager will Report to:

  • Human Resource Manager (Corporate office)

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for the duration of the workday
  • Ability to move about the office, bend, and reach
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally

Work Environment

  • Generally, works in an office environment but may occasionally be required to perform job duties outside of the typical office setting if specified by the Executive Team.
