Dietary Aide

Occupational Summary:

As a Dietary Aide, you will perform a variety of duties to ensure the proper distribution of prepared foods to patients, cafeteria guests, and catered events.

Reports To: Dietary Coordinator or Cook

Supervises: None

Qualifications:

  1. Demonstrates a strong work ethic and critical thinking skills.
  2. Excel in a fast-paced environment.
  3. High School Diploma or GED
  4. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  5. Six months experience in food service is preferred.
  6. Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  7. Ability to reach with hands and arms.
  8. Ability to talk and hear.
  9. Frequently required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  10. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  11. Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  1. As a Dietary Aide, you will perform a variety of duties to ensure proper distribution of prepared foods to patients, cafeteria guests, and catered events.
  2. Accurately sets up and delivers patient trays and nourishments.
  3. Distribute correct portions of food and beverage items.
  4. Demonstrates working knowledge of specific therapeutic diets.
  5. Follows department standards and procedures.
  6. Utilizes and rotates food products, and appropriately stores leftovers, labels, and dates food items.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned.
