April 17, 2019 – Dedicated Nursing Associates (DNA) is excited to announce that we will be working with the Delmont community on restoring the basketball court at Newhouse Park! Construction on the new 54′ x 88′ state-of-the-art basketball court will start in the spring.

The donation from DNA will total $50,000 and will cover most of the cost of the new court. Council President Andy Shissler commented, “I think it’s a great idea. It’s an opportunity to make some needed improvements to Newhouse Park.”

DNA wanted to give back to the local community in a way that would benefit everyone. Because the court’s condition is currently cracked, aging, and undersized, the project will entail a full demolition of the existing basketball and dek hockey courts. A new 4” concrete foundation will be laid with specially made custom angles so that rain will never pool on the court. The court will be built to the same size as a high-school basketball court. Custom tile-style flooring will be installed to provide traction and cushion for players and the hoops and fencing will be updated. The new design of the basketball court is guaranteed to maintain its quality for a minimum of 30 years.

In addition to donating the basketball court at Newhouse Park, DNA is also a corporate sponsor for the DNA Dream Team. The DNA Dream Team is an eighth grade AAU girls’ basketball team that is based out of Murrysville/Greensburg, PA. The purpose of the team is to play at a high level and advanced skills to prepare them for the next level of basketball. As the corporate sponsor for this team, DNA provides each player with uniforms and warm-up apparel, in addition to covering all costs associated with practice facilities and tournaments.

DNA is very excited to be presenting this donation to the local community and hope that it will encourage people off all ages to get out and have fun on the court for many years!
